The time frame that is considered is from the moment of the loss of life, through the foreseen future.
Economic losses are those financially related expenses and impacts due to the loss of a loved one. These can include, loss of income or wages, loss of financial support, loss of work benefits, funeral expenses, mental health services, as well as, the loss of the future services that loving individual would have provided to their family.
There is no calculator or written schedule to calculate compensation in these types of cases. The amount of compensation varies based on the impact to the family, both economically and non-economically. If a case like this goes to trial, a jury and judge will place a value for the compensation that they find adequate to help deal with the loss of that loved one.
